Park House

Park House is an attached Grade II listed holiday cottage in Harlaxton, Lincolnshire, close to Harlaxton Manor, and is a short drive from both the centre of Grantham and the Vale of Belvoir. It was awarded a Customer's Choice Award in 2016 (Revoo Ratings) and also a Gold Citation Award in Lincolnshire Life's 'Taste of Excellence' Awards in November 2017.

No smoking accommodation for 8 people plus two infants and two dogs. Minimum booking 2 nights.

Close to the Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire borders, Grantham is just over an hour on the train from King's Cross and Grantham station is only a 7 minute journey by car to Park House.

The cottage is full of character and has a large private walled garden as well as a large private driveway which can accommodate at least 6 cars. Bookings are welcomed all year round, be it a family occasion, friends get together, local wedding, house hunting, short break, short let, holiday or corporate let.

Two cots (one full size pine cot and one travel cot) are available for infants, plus two high chairs, stairgate and fireguards.

We recently held a family get-together at Park House in Harlaxton and the house suited us perfectly for so many reasons. The house is very well equipped with loads of cutlery and crockery so you weren't constantly running out of, say, glasses and washing up. The little ones were well catered for too with plenty of plastic plates, bowls, cups and cutlery. The two highchairs and two cots were a huge help too. The house has plenty of space so we didn't feel on top of each other, the bedrooms are spacious and a lovely big garden for the children to run around in. There were a diverse collection of dvds and books. The location was lovely and there's plenty to see and do in the area. Most importantly, we were made to feel very welcome and at home by the hosts. We would return.

Ideal Accommodation in a Great Location

This was an incredibly spacious house for our group of 5 ladies. Breakfasts were great around the solid wood table. Pretty, level garden too although a bit cool to sit out when we went. The village of Harlaxton is extremely well kept and a pleasure to walk around. The village shop proved handy too. There are plenty of footpaths to explore and further afield we visited Woolsthorpe Manor and Belvoir Castle, both excellent places to visit. The Gregory pub is only 5 minutes walk away and has excellent food.

What days can I arrive?

Our 7 night stays start on Fridays. 2 night weekend breaks can start on Friday or Saturday. 3 night weekend breaks start on Friday. Midweek breaks of can start on Sunday (4 or 5 nights) or Monday (4 nights).

How can I pay?

We can take payments via bank transfer or cheque.

What are the payment arrangements?

We request 20% deposit on confirmation of a booking with the balance payable 6 weeks before your arrival day.

What are the arrangements for dogs?

Two dogs are welcome free of charge for direct bookings. We ask that owners respect our guidelines for dogs for their welfare and safety, including not leaving them alone in the cottage, not allowing them upstairs, nor on any furniture.

Can I provisionally reserve dates while I decide?

Yes, we are happy to reserve dates for you for 24 hours or a little longer if required while you finalise your arrangements.

Do you accept extra guests?

We will accept 2 extra adult or child guests but additional payment will be required.

Can I get extra logs?

Yes, we can supply a bag of logs on request, £5 per bag, or fuel can be picked up locally at garages and shops etc

What time can I arrive?

Access is generally from 3pm but we try to accommodate earlier times if there is a special reason to ie flying in from overseas, or assist with earlier bag drop off.

What time do I have to leave?

Departure is at 10am if we have new guests arriving that day, but we allow guests a late departure of lunchtime if no new guests are arriving, without additional charge.

How can I use Oceans Health & Fitness while staying at Park House?

Information is in the cottage and you simply have to take our business card with you and explain at reception that you would like day membership at £5pp or £25pp for a week.

Are towels provided?

Yes, towels for use in Park House are provided but we do ask that guests bring their own towels if they are planning any activities that require towels away from Park House, including visiting Oceans Health & Fitness.

Is your calendar up to date?

Yes. We keep our calendar up to date with all confirmed bookings as soon as they happen. If your dates are booked but would like to register an interest in case things change you are welcome to do so, especially if planning far ahead.

Can I book for 2019 now?

We are awaiting prices for 2019 at the moment but they should be available very soon (as of 22/2/18). Please register your interest in dates and we will let you know as soon as the price is available.

About Park House

Park House offers a spacious lounge with open fire, Freeview TV, DVD player, and dining room with table for 8, well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, snug with log burner, CD and DVD player, bathroom with roll top bath, two shower rooms (one upstairs, one downstairs), utility room with washing machine and four bedrooms (either three doubles and one twin OR two doubles and two twins), making it perfect for up to 8 guests, plus two infants and one pet.

A full size pine cot and a travel cot/playpen as well as other baby equipment are supplied, and rates include linen, towels, heating, electricity and basket of logs.

Park House is just a short walk to Harlaxton's own popular fine dining pub, 'The Gregory (dogs allowed in bar area for drinks/dining), a village shop and post office, children's play ground and sports field.

Enjoy local walks in the wonderful grounds of Harlaxton Manor and along the Grantham Canal, and visit Belvoir Castle including its Capability Brown Gardens, Belton House (National Trust, top ten most visited properties), Isaac Newton's Woolsthorpe Manor and Science Discovery Centre (National Trust), Rutland Water, Tallington Lakes, Burghley House, Clumber Park, Grimsthorpe Castle and Twin Lakes Family Theme Park.

Visit the local market town of Grantham, to enjoy the new Jump Revolution Trampoline Park, ten pin bowling, large leisure centre with swimming pools and large inflatable fun sessions, climbing wall, badminton, tennis and table tennis, Fun Farm Children's Play Area and Multi screen cinema. Or neighbouring towns of Newark, Melton Mowbray, Oakham and Stamford, the historical city of Lincoln including its historic Cathedral and Castle including the Magna Carta Exhibition, as well as Nottingham, Peterborough and Leicester including the Richard III exhibition and National Space Centre.

Park House is local to many local wedding venues including Harlaxton Manor, Belvoir Castle, Urban Hotel, Angel & Royal Hotel, Allington Manor, The Chequers (Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir), Langar Hall Hotel, Eden House Hotel and Stoke Rochford Hall.

By special arrangement adult guests can have temporary membership of Oceans, a popular local health and fitness club with gym, workout classes, swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Additional cost of £20 pp per week or £5 pp per visit, paid direct to the club. The Urban Hotel also offers spa days.
