Reached by a private drive, Thiernswood nestles under a wooded hillside in the grounds of the owners’ estate, (Thiernswood Hall in Healaugh). The cottage faces south, enjoying plenty of sunshine and overlooking breath taking views of the Swaledale Valley and the Dales beyond.
Fully modernised it still retains the character and charm of a traditional dales cottage. The superior accommodation includes a spacious lounge, dining room, modern well-equiped kitchen, entrance porch and two bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities.
As you approach the holiday home you’ll find garage parking which can also be used for the safe storage of outdoor equipment such as bikes or climbing gear. The holiday cottage is accessed through its private enclosed south facing garden.
The holiday cottage is heated throughout by night storage heaters with a multi-fuel stove in the lounge. Coal is supplied for the open fire during the winter months or from May onwards can be purchased onsite. Hot water is provided by an immersion heater. The electricity is on a meter, the initial £5.00 is included in the rental charge.
A Post Office, shops, teashops, restaurants and pubs can be found two miles away at Reeth – a short drive or a pleasant walk along the dale.
